Metrosuite
Careers

A small team that builds real buildings.

How we hire

Metrosuite is a small company and hires rarely. When we do, we hire for calibre over credentials: people who learn quickly, hold a high standard and would rather fix a problem than describe it. Construction experience helps. Judgement matters more.

The values we hire against

What the work is like

The whole building

Lots, permits, factories, crane days and residents. The work runs from a single-family lot to an occupied building, and you see all of it.

Responsibility early

A small team means real projects and real decisions, early, with the founder in the room.

Frugal by design

We spend where it shows up in the building and nowhere else. That is how small rental buildings get built at all.

Open roles

Two roles, as the 2027 building program starts. Each one works directly with the founder on real buildings from the first week.

To apply, email your CV and a short note to info@metrosuite.com with the role in the subject line. Tell us what you have built, and what you want to build next. We read every application and reply to the people we would like to meet.

Project ManagerFull-time · Toronto, with site and factory visits · Starting early 2027

You will run Metrosuite's buildings from building permit to occupancy: a fourplex and garden suite on each lot, built as modules in an Ontario factory while the foundations go in on site. You will carry several buildings at once and report to the founder.

What you will do

  • Own the schedule and budget for each building, from permit to occupancy, against a fixed manufacturer price and a guaranteed maximum price on site work.
  • Manage the modular manufacturer: shop drawing reviews, fabrication progress, factory inspections and delivery.
  • Run the site sequence: demolition, foundations, servicing, crane day, and the trades who connect and finish each building.
  • Coordinate the architect, engineers and independent inspector, and keep RFIs, submittals and change orders moving.
  • Work with the City of Toronto, Toronto Hydro and Toronto Water on permits, inspections and service connections.
  • Administer contracts, progress payments and holdback under Ontario's Construction Act.
  • Report progress to the founder and investment partners, and raise problems early.

What you bring

  • Five or more years managing residential or low-rise construction in Ontario, with at least one building taken from permit to occupancy.
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and the Construction Act.
  • Fluency with architectural, structural and mechanical drawings.
  • Schedule and cost control in tools such as Microsoft Project, Autodesk Construction Cloud and QuickBooks.
  • A valid Ontario driver's licence.

Nice to have

  • Modular, prefab or precast experience.
  • PMP or Gold Seal certification.

Investor Relations AssociateFull-time · Toronto office · Starting 2027

You will support the capital side of Metrosuite: the investment partnership being established to own the next generation of its buildings. You will work with the principal responsible for capital formation and partnership finance, and make sure every partner receives clear, accurate and timely information about their buildings.

What you will do

  • Prepare quarterly reports for limited partners: capital deployed, construction progress, budget-to-actual, leasing and distributions.
  • Respond to partners' information requests, and keep investor records, the data room and the CRM current.
  • Coordinate investor onboarding documentation with the partnership's legal counsel.
  • Maintain the building-level models and budget-to-actual that feed each report.
  • Prepare materials for the investment committee and for meetings with partners.
  • Support lender and CMHC MLI Select reporting, and work with the external accountant and auditor on partnership statements and investor tax slips.

What you bring

  • Two to five years in investor relations, real estate finance, private equity, fund administration or wealth management.
  • Strong financial modelling in Excel, including development pro formas and distribution waterfalls.
  • Excellent writing and presentation: the ability to turn a set of numbers into a report an investor will actually read.
  • Precision, and discretion with confidential information.

Nice to have

  • Progress toward a CFA or CPA designation.
  • Familiarity with Canada's exempt market and accredited-investor rules.
  • Experience with Salesforce or a similar CRM.
